Application Files

As Android evolves, greater restrictions are being imposed on device file system access in the name of improved security. That means private application storage for applications like eLibrary Manager may no longer be accessible from your device. Of course you should always be able to access those file system folders and files from a computer, but not being able to do the same from your device can be an inconvenience, or worse than that if you don't have access to a computer.

A number of features and application extension mechanisms for eLibrary Manager have been designed with the expectation that you have access to application file system folders to make use of those features. Some examples are:

Making use of the above features prior to eLibrary Manager version 5.1.4 required that you are able to access specific file system folders to manage files either generated by the application or that you provide. With version 5.1.4, however, tooling is now available to manage those files.

See the following sections to find out more about the following tools:

Other features, including managing online dictionaries, mime type mappings, HTML named entity mappings and inline style tag mappings will get a similar treatment with explicit tooling soon (stay tuned!).
